About our memberships

Training Should Be Accessible

Project 303 exists to help individuals and families access the life-changing benefits of martial arts training when financial circumstances may otherwise make participation difficult.

Through community support and partnership with Double Black, Project 303 provides a limited number of scholarship opportunities each year for youth and adult students who demonstrate both need and a commitment to training.

Our goal is not simply to provide free memberships. Our goal is to invest in people who are committed to personal growth, discipline, accountability, and becoming positive members of our community.

How the scholarship works

Project 303 scholarships provide partial or full assistance toward training at Double Black.

Scholarships are awarded based on:

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Commitment to consistent training

  • Personal goals and motivation

  • Available scholarship funding and program capacity

  • Alignment with the values of the Double Black community

Because scholarship resources are limited, not all applicants may be immediately approved. Depending on capacity, you may be placed on a waitlist.

Levels of Support

Project 303 offers several levels of scholarship assistance to help make training accessible while allowing our resources to support as many individuals and families as possible.

Available scholarship levels include:

  • 25% Community-Supported Scholarship

  • 50% Community-Supported Scholarship

  • 75% Community-Supported Scholarship

  • 100% Community-Supported Scholarship

Scholarship awards are based on demonstrated need, available funding, program capacity, and overall applicant circumstances.

Because resources vary throughout the year, availability at each support level may be limited. In some cases, an applicant may request one level of support but be offered a different level based on current scholarship availability.

As part of the application process, we ask applicants to indicate the level of support they are requesting and what they believe they can reasonably contribute toward their training costs.

Our goal is to make training accessible while responsibly stewarding the community resources that make Project 303 possible.

Recipient Expectations

Scholarship recipients are expected to:

  • Attend classes consistently

  • Follow all gym rules and policies

  • Treat coaches, teammates, and staff with respect

  • Communicate when circumstances affect attendance

  • Demonstrate effort and a positive attitude

Scholarships are intended for individuals who are actively participating in their own growth and development.

Limited Availability

Project 303 maintains a limited number of active scholarship positions at any given time.

Scholarship availability depends on:

  • Program funding

  • Community support

  • Available training capacity

  • Existing scholarship commitments

A waiting list may be maintained when all scholarship positions are filled.

Community Support

Project 303 is made possible through the generosity of supporters who believe martial arts can change lives.

When recipients are able, we encourage them to give back through leadership, mentorship, volunteering, or simply helping create a positive training environment for others.

The purpose of this program is not charity alone. It is community.

Your support fuels progress and shows love where it's needed most.
